Indregard is a third-generation camping ground manager. The guests, or certain regulars, take up more and more space, and it has become such a nuisance that Indregard is considering selling.

The man who takes up the most space, is the king of the camping ground. Per is an outgoing bachelor in his forties who uses Ole Ivars’ songs as a guiding star in life. When Per finds out that Indregard is considering selling, he decides to save the camping ground by giving Indregard what in Per’s eyes is the world’s greatest gift: An Ole Ivars concert!

Line, Sunny Side’s ray of sunshine, and her quiet husband Willy, say goodbye to their daughter who is going off on an Interrail trip. It’s their first summer without kids. Line puts on her dancing shoes, this summer will not be wasted, love will rush through their veins. But Willy sees this as an opportunity for a relaxing summer holiday, and becomes more and more distant as Line tries to reignite the spark in their relationship

This summer a stranger comes to Sunny Side Camping. Stella, a journalist, claims to be working on an article on camping life. The truth is that she is investigating an incident that happened at a so-called Christmas-in-July party almost thirty years ago. That same night her mother got pregnant after an encounter with a regular at Sunny Side. She doesn’t know who, her only lead is that he still spends his holidays at the camping site.

Will the concert save the camping ground? Can Line and Willy manage to save their marriage? Will Stella find her dad? And what really happened in 1989 at the Christmas-in-July party?

What becomes clear to all of them is that something has to happen during the course of this summer. They must stop pretending to be who they are not. The answer might be both simple and complicated; you have to learn to accept yourself. In other words; come as you are.
