A brand new and darkly comic series written by (amongst others) and starring Iceland’s hottest actor and comedian Pétur Jóhann Sigfússon star of the hugely successful Shifts series and Mr. Bjarnfredarson. Hlemma Video tells the story of Siggi (Pétur Jóhann) who inherits his father’s fledgling video rental business. While trying to save the business Siggi begins to follow his true passion of becoming a private investigator.

Siggi, a recently divorced 38 year old finds himself at a crossroads in his life when his father dies and leaves him his video rental business he founded in 1979. Siggi tries to make sense of his new life and his father’s unexpected death through spontaneous combustion. As he stumbles upon some hidden secrets he builds a small reputation as a private investigator.

Siggi starts taking on cases which he solves with the help of film buff Anton and the sandwich girl who comes by the store every day to replenish stock. Together they uncover shocking secrets in high places. A can of worms is open, and all hell breaks loose.

Sigurjón Kjartansson: Iceland’s most prolific and popular writer for TV. Sigurjón has had a major writing credit for the majority of Icelandic TV series produced in the last few years, including Astridur, Réttur and Black Angels, all produced by Sagafilm.

Styrmir Sigurðsson: Styrmir is a popular advertising director in Iceland but he is perhaps best known for his comedy series Fóstbræður, a wildly popular sketch show with a number of awards under its belt.
