Food is a universal language that brings people together... But what if the people are sworn enemies? In "Dining With the Enemy" an experienced war correspondent takes an expert gourmet chef to a conflict-ridden part of the world.

We follow a famous war correspondent and a hotshot chef on a journey to some of the most dangerous places in the world. While the chef looks for exotic cooking ingredients, the correspondent shares insights on the country - as well as the conflict. But both cook and correspondent have a higher calling.

Each programme is their attempt to bring together representatives from each side of the local conflict... not for peace negotiations, but simply to enjoy a well prepared meal while maybe gaining some new perspective on their differences.

"Dining With the Enemy" is a tasty documentary format that serves up a brand new approach to dealing with some of the world's most important news stories.

"Dining with the Enemy" got first prize when AIB Awards were handed out in London- the International Broadcasting Union's price. The program was nominated in the category of "Best specialist genre program or series" and also nominated for 2 Gullruten (local Emmy). BBC and CNBC were among the competitors in the category.
