Distributor Nordic World has secured several global deals for Danish factual formats Jailhouse Cook, Missing and The Correspondents.
Produced by Denmark’s Koncern, Jailhouse Cook (8 x 45-minutes) was optioned for the United States by Sander/Moses Productions, in Norway by Monster/NICE Group and in Germany by Endemol. The series, which aired on Demark’s DR1, follows maximum security prisoners as they train in an eight-week gourmet bootcamp with a Michelin-starred chef.
Missing (5 x 45-minutes), also a Danish production, has been optioned in Norway by TV2 and in Sweden by Mastiff/Zodiak. The series, which is produced by Dokumentarkompagniet, tackles the problem of child abduction in Europe and is hosted by actor Janus Bakrawi, who was abducted as a child.
Along with private investigators, mediators, negotiators, computer experts, lawyers, politicians, family and friends, Bakrawi searches for abducted children in a bid to return them to their rightful homes. It first aired on TV2 in Denmark.
Finally, TV2 Denmark’s The Correspondents (6 x 30-minutes) was optioned in Norway by TV2 and in Sweden by TV4. The series profiles news reporters that brave extreme conditions in search of a story. A deal in France is pending.
