The terrorists in the so-called Islamic State (IS) look down on women. They enslave, rape and sell women — and yet they fear fighting female soldiers. We follow the battle of two extraordinary women who fearlessly fight the brutal extremists.

Vian (21) is the commanding officer at an all-female training base close to the frontline. We are given a rare insight into the every-day life on base - an insight that includes many surprises, such as what young girls do before they go into battle. In neighbouring Iraq, meanwhile, we meet Bahar Munzir (42), a Norwegian citizen born in the Kurdistan-region of northern Iraq, who is fighting the same enemy, but with different weapons. Bahar has been a women’s activist for over 20 years. That also comes with a price and she has faced numerous death threats.
