Should he stay or should he go? The little boy was placed in foster home care only two days old, since his mother was unable to take care of him. The foster parents were asked to look after the boy his entire childhood and adolescent life, and they were happy to do so. But out of the blue comes a father, who suddenly discovers he is the boy’s father, and he is willing and ready to take responsibility for his son, now 2 ½ years old.

The drama unfolds when the social worker must decide what will be in the boy’s best interest: To let him stay in the family he has known as his own since birth, or move to the single father whom he meets once a month? An impossible choice. This documentary provides a compelling insight into the dilemmas the social workers deal with, and the agony and emotional roller coaster experienced by the foster parents, the boy’s father and the boy himself. What will be the best decision?

The audience is in the middle of the conflict while it evolves, since the child welfare is released from its duty of secrecy, and both foster parents and the father openly display their intimate feelings related to this process. A story with unique access to the main characters, with overwhelming emotional impact, as the viewers see the whole picture and get the opportunity to hear all sides of the story as the final decision comes to a close.
