Ten girls with the trompetist Tine Thing Helseth as front figure plays in the wintry cold to celebrate the new year.

Tine Thing Helseth started playing the piano when she was five years old, but discovered the trumpet when she was seven. She was inspired by her mother who also played the trumpet. She played in the school band for years.
Haydn’s trumpet concert was the first work she played with an orchestra. She was 16 years old and participated in Concert for Young People in Bergen. She also played this when she participated in the Eurovision Young Musicians’ Competition in Vienna in 2006. She was a great success. She came second, and the concert she played with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra was transmitted to broadcasting stations all over Europe.
Her first CD with the Norwegian Chamber Music Orchestra was released in November 2007 and sold very well in Norway as well as abroad. She is working on another CD now for release before Christmas 2009.
She has held concerts in Germany, Poland, Switzerland, China and Vietnam and this summer (2009) her programme includes concerts in Bad Kissingen, Stuttgart, Rheingau, Italy (Ravello Music Festival), Oslo (Grieg Festival), Ost-Friesland, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Zürich.
Her brass group Tenthing Brass Ensemble consists of ten young girls and they played their first concert on her 20th birthday August 18th, 2007.
