Thomas (13) lives together with his adoptive parents and elder sister Siss. The children’s real parents were killed in a car crash twelve years earlier.

The story opens on the day Siss claims to have heard their father’s voice, which prompts her to believe that he is not dead after all.

Thomas, in turn, receives a sign that makes him think his sister may be right.

Together with her mother, Monica moves into the same block of flats as that occupied by Thomas and his family. It transpires that this is far from being a coincidence.

What really happened to Thomas and Siss’s father twelve years ago? Why is he in hiding, and who is he hiding from?

‘It’s because of this gift he has,’ Siss declares. ‘He can hear what people are thinking. It’s a gift not only he has, but also you and me, Thomas. He’s come to warn us!’
