The future of the Monarcy of Sweden is a continous discussion in Sweden, but the popularity of the King seems to be stabile. His position is so strong that polititians bound by party programs requiering Sweden to become a republic do not dear to voice this. To do so is regarded political suicide.

The documentary mirrors the live at the Royal Castle, the King and Queens travels, Official state visits and parties. We tell the story of the little prince without a father who for some years were known as the party prince- and who over the years earned the trust of the Swedish people to such a degree that he can now be labeled "landsfader" (LandesFater) The story is told with archive footage and so for unpubliched pictures. The King himself have opened doors to the Royal Castle and to different events during the shoting. There is now footage from the Castle, the Parliament, the Royal Stables and the Royal Treasury.
